The Pursuit of Purpose
Summary
Play as a common thief and break into an old warehouse in the dead of night.
Explore the warehouse and the mind of our common thief.
Deftly avoid traps placed by the owner of the warehouse and avoid the gaze of the ghosts, lest you become a ghost yourself.
Panic that you got more than you bargained for and desperately try to escape the haunted structure.
Realize that the game has a deeper meaning and observe our thief wrestle with their inner thoughts and conflicts.
Use of Theme (Aberration)
The ghosts that haunt the player are a fairly straightforward use of the aberration theme.
The mental toll that doubts and thoughts have on the player character can be seen through the intensity of Chromatic Aberration (among other effects) throughout the game.
The voice in your head doubting your every move is pretty aberration-y I think.

Developer Notes
Hi :)
This game is a jam entry for Acerola Jam 0. It builds upon my top-down game skeleton.
Unfortunately working on this has only further cemented my hatred for working in 2d space. I hope this is the last time I ever have to work in 2d.
That said, this game is just me working through some of the thoughts I've had over the past year.
Hope the next year is better than the last! And, if you haven't already, I hope you find your purpose.
The game plays smoother if you play the native windows build, but I'd understand if you would prefer to play the web build.
